Q What are the advantages of the DIR911 over tape based cassette recorders?
A The DIR911 is voice activated and begins recording instantly and stops when the conversation is complete. Tape based recorders can have a delay while the tape transport gets up to speed. Locating a particular call is easy. A single push of a button will play the last call. Additional calls can be located by time and date in sequence. Cassette recorders require winding and rewinding of the tape to locate a call.
Q What are the advantages of the DIR911 over recording software for PC's?
A There a three advantages:
- The IR-300 a separate unit from your PC. It can be left on to insure the capture of all calls. PC based software must be opened and minimized. It is subject to human error and PC glitches that can cause calls to be lost. Software based recordings require the transfer to removable media for mobility which is not the original recordings.
- The DIR911 can be put into the "Loop" mode for continuous recording retaining the calls. Recording software for PC's requires manually removing old calls to conserve space on the hard drive.
- A coupler connected to a sound card is required with recording software for computers. The sound quality will vary with different components. The DIR911 is a direct connection with high audio quality using TrueSpeech compression.
